Many of the most well known boilies, frozen and shelf-life, have been
successful at Carp Heaven.
Premier Baits, Mainline Baits, Nutrabaits, Richworth Baits, Dynamite
Baits, Proline, KGB, Nash, Martin SB, Mistral and Quality Baits have
all done well.
Knowing how much to bring depends on your style of fishing, but,
per person you should bring anywhere between 10 and 15 kilos of 18mm
or 20mm boilies and, possibly, 10 or 15 kilos of prepared particles
like partiblend, red band, pigeon mix or hemp. (No nuts of any kind
are to be used).
The most successful anglers here use a lot of bait and I would always
recommend you bring frozen/fresh boilies. There is enough space to keep
your boilies in a freezer, or you can air dry them. Many people travel
to France with cheap shelf life boilies, but personally, when you go
away for your carp fishing in France why not give yourself the best
chance of a good week and use quality fresh boilies.
Use this link to see how to avoid
the nuisance poisson chat, and the best methods I have tested include
the following:-
Pop-ups covered in ladies tights and fished using the "KD rig"
Boillies covered with clear shrink tube on any of your favourite rigs
Several grains of maize on the hair
So far I have not found a boillie that they do not eat. I fish several
public lakes nearby, all of which have lots of poisson chat, and they
eat everything. (My removal scheme is on going and proves to be very
successful).
